Who will pay for this?
Dr. Capra...
The taxpayers will pay for this!
You people are so selfish. Don't you realize that you were fooled into thinking that this infringes on your liberties when the only people who really benefit are health insurance companies? Do you really think you are part of the ultra rich and your children are exposed to the pitfalls of the curent system? For you, it is all about me and not we. Wake up!
i dont feel like i should be force to have health insurance, i think everyone would like to have health insurance if they could afford it, but no one wants to be force into anything.
If you don't have health insurance and get sick, the tax payers have to pay for it anyway- so go get health insurance please- don't be a burden on the rest of us!
You know i am in the poor class. This is a class the president does not talk about. This concerns health care reform.I think thee president is a selfish jerk that has no regard to other peoples financial situations. The american government can kiss my ass as far as im concerned.Until they can get the health insurance affordable that is when i will get some.
It is my understanding that under the new health care bill I will no longer need my
advantage supplemental insurance coverage. I happen to be very satisfied with my coverage. Why do I have to give up my advantage plan?
This Bill will be the BIG downfall of America.
Obama is for big Government and the Democrats that voted for this are pathetic!!!! They don't care about the people, they don't listen to the people and they think they know whats good for us. Pelosi, Reid and Obama should be ashamed when they look themselves in the mirro. I sure am going to pray for them because we are all in danger if we don't.
like it or not we needed massive healthcare reform. sometimes medicine is hard to swallow. we will get better because of this reform. and Americans will be better for it. don't pray for the democrats, pray that all the thousands of lives that can be saved by this reform, will be covered ASAP!
What about my right to choose on my own without fear of penalty. Regardless if the choice is the right or not?
oh whatever. I'm so sad of you people complaining about a right to choose. did you choose to have a sucky job with no health insurance? just like I chose to have a kid by a deadbeat dad who doesn't want to help me pay for health insurance, and i don't expect any pity for that. I am glad this bill is being passed so all the people I know who have no health insurance will not have to suffer becuase they can't afford it.
I recently had a discussion with an unempoyed electricion. He has a wife and 4 children. He was totaly against social medicine and the whole incurance reform. After asking him a few simple questions I found that he and his wife use the emergency room for medical care and his children are on medicade. Socialistic or not. U decide.
The main thing missing from the healthcare reform bill is Malpractice lawsuit restrictions. As long as DR. have to pay millions in insurance, how can the cost of healthcare get cheaper?
The FCC, FDA and other gov agencys are under staffed and useless. Who will watch the incurance companys. Remember what just happend to our banking institutions. Who was watching them. How abour enron retirement? Unless we have some real oversite, none of the reforms will work.
It is illegal to drive a car without insurance. Right?? So why do I now have to purchase uninsured motorist coverage. What will be next? Insurance companys are greedy, bloodsucking #@#@#.... What will be different about this healthcare reform.
I think everyone is so confused , even the Government people , maybe they want to be that way , so we can fight amongst ourselves , while they start up something else behind our back.
It is so confusing , as I read all the comments from people , you can read the anger people have , with each other , Just because no one can really bae the facts together..
Health care (transformation) is one of the best issues this current administration has done thus far. With this change individuals will have the opportunity to seek professional and quality health care services. Who would want to return to the days of the horse and buggy, b/w tv sets, manual typewriters, pac man, you get the point? That's about how old the health care system was in the USA. Each day the news is filled with social tragedies in which lives are taken at the hands of known acquaintences and/or family members. Our society is stricken with the institutions of white collar crime permeating throughout this great nation and greed which tends to strike at the very fabric of our country. I hope everyone will soon recognize and use the resources made by this transformation to seek professional medical attention as the need arises rather than turning to illegal and criminal activities to resolve their issues.
EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE GOVERMENT RUN WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. Obama, Pelosi and Reid DO NOT have to worry about their family's care for they can lay their heads upon their pillow at night and have no worries about money, food, clothing, or medical care. Just the amount they spend on clothing could feed or house millions of needy people. The American citizens shouldn't be forced to buy insurance. This is suppose to be the land of the free.
This is still the land of the free. But freedom itself has a price. I don't have children, but my taxes pay for someone else's child(ren) to go to school. But I do it because I have to AND it's good for a democratic society to have educated citizens. With health care, it's good for the economy when people are well and not sick, when people can get healthy and get back to work. I don't mind my tax dollars going there. As far as the requirement for everyone to get health care, it is just like car insurance, only it makes even more sense with health care. Plenty of people have lived their entire life without an accident. You tell me one person who has never been sick? And we'll all die some day! If you don't have health care you should get it because you're going to need it eventually and it will save you money and stress in the long run. If you can't afford it, like the lady mentioned in an earlier post, the government will assist with costs just as they have always done through medicaid and medicare programs. We're spending to much on this health care reform? Yeah, maybe. But we also spend a heck of a lot of money on education for every child, social security for the old and disabled..and isn't it worth it? For the sick and dying to get care?
I want to know the income limit that you must be under in order to get the government help with medical care
single mom with two teanage children can get medicaid for her kids, but none for herself. She works very hard as a server and makes less than 19.000 per year.
She has to live with family to make it at all. Does she deserve health care
I think a lot of people are missing the most important issue on this health plan. It's simple, the government can not afford it at this time. It will not pay for itself. They are destroying our country borrowing all this money from China to pay for this kind of thing.
As usual the democrats want to fill their own pockets with this money going to insurance companies. Its a shame that 90% of money spent on health care goes to the insurance companies and only 10% actually going to care for the patient, yes remember him or her thats the special person we are trying to help? No, obama wants all the money to go to the burocratic mess called the insurance industry. Of all the entities of the modern age insurance and democratic run government are by far the most wasteful in human and economic terms. Insurance reform must be done first if we have any hope in fixing this mess that obama created and fooled all the dumb people into supporting. Hopefully when congress flips this november republicans will be able to clean up this very very big mess and i can hear vetoes being overridden.
So much for "healthcare." My elderly mother's medication that she has to take for alzheimers has gone from $40.00 to $200.00 since her last prescription was filled. (This is what America has come to). She is on medicaid. I know that the elderly will suffer. What a shame that America is going down the sewage drain. Thanks OBAMA for NOTHING!
You guys should stop complaining cuz one the health care we have now isnt as good as it was supposed to be. also the law has just been signed give it a try u guys are too hard on democrats they went to college and we voted for most of these people.so if u want to say u have the right to choose tell that to ur congress men or state official. as for obama people are just tryin to make it look like america made a mistake he has done things to help us and we had a full 8 years of a terrible president and i will be so as happy as ever when a obama fixes bush's mistakes. obama has to put up with the wo0rld judging his every move and trying to fix the mess we are in we are lucky anyone wants to be our president. STOP COMPLAINING AND GIVE HIM A BREAK. i wanna see one of yall do what he sas done. some people are just so ignorant
I do not go to doctors and believe in faith healing. I have nothing against those that do go to doctors and believe that it is their choice. I do not see why I should have to pay for health insurance I will never use. I am a working woman in her forties and I have not changed my beliefs on this and do not plan to. Is anyone exempt from these regulations?
it's amusing people being ugly and angry when they don't even know what all the health care bill entails. people are saying Obama doesn't care about the poor b/c he is forcing people to get insurance, but he is making it easier for those less fortunate to get government subsidized health care.... at low to no cost to you. most of what is being said are assumptions and here-say. read the plan, find the facts, educate yourself and vote for someone who believes the same things you do next election (that's for both congressional and presidential). then feel free to get on your soapbox and roar away.
You should be fined for not having insurance because if you have an emergency and go to the emergency room, then you do not have the money for the bill, it gets charged to everyone else.
By contributing to the pool and doing your part, overall costs come down.
Its like stores that have to charge more because of all the theft.
People go to the hospital and then not pay, it gets charged to everyone else.
Also, insurance companies get by now denying coverage, dropping people, and finding loopholes not to pay when they should.
I am only upset that we go not have the single payer option yet.
I wish people would actually drop the uneducated politics cheering, do some real math, and maybe think altruistic for once.
This was created to wipe out all of the corrupted insurance companies and business for their bad reputation. I assure you though if you get pulled over with insurance on your car who do you get in trouble by? Not the business men dressed in suits, its the cops! Remember that, its against the LAW to not carry liability insurance....just as it will be with this new bill!
I am not against health care that makes sense, this plan does not. I am 58 and disabled. My only income is Social Security. I do not qualify for extra help. Currently I am in a Medicare Advantage plan. Next year most of these plans will not be around. I will then have to care Medicare Part A&B, a medigap plan and a part D plan. This will cost me more than $300.00 a month just in premium's alone. I haved decided that I will not be able to afford this coverage so I plan to just drop out of medicare. Health care coverage is no good when you can not afford to use it. They will save a lot of money in Medicare as many people will no longer use it.
If our current president, Mr. Obama is not in keeping with what some of you fine upstanding American want, I pray to God that ONE of your choosing is being groomed for the job,the next coming national election. It appears very clear to me that none of the "Good Ole Boys" wanted the job and none were being groomed for the job because none were ready to step up and take it on. Healthcare along with a mountain of others area of our countries needs were not addressed by our last or past "Man at the helm" but the ONES(that fine upstanding American) that possibly were capable of taking the job of President, were to busy stuffing their pockets with greed..........You, whinning American should be more than thankful for this fine son, husband, family man to have taken on such a thankless job as this. It's been an oberservation that when you fine American suck all there is out of any neighborhood (The Whitehouse), you move out and leave it for a minority..........And that's what you fine upstanding America have done once again...............
SHAME ON YOU SELFISH SELFISH PEOPLE!!!! I am dying now because there was no insurance and no way to get any. I have worked my whole life, raised my children, didn't ask for a dime from anyone, obeyed the law, and paid my taxes. But there was no money for health care for 10 years and when I was able to get the health care it is to late for the heart problems that developed while I had no doctor to go to. What person would anyone one of you wish that on??? What person of any of you wouldn't reach in their pocket and put a few buck in a can to help someone get a life saving surgery? Every single one of you...that's who. Why? Because we are Americans!!!! We built this country helping one another and watching over our fellow man. Yes, we had a family squabble or two but on the whole our country is great because of the people in it. Have we allowed the selfishness and filth of Washington DC to take from us the love and caring for our fellow man that is the life's blood of our country? Why in the world would we want any part of or associate ourselves with the trash and the stench that oozes from Washington? WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT!!! Our country is still we the people whether anyone wants to believe that or not. Our strength is not just at the voting polls but in how we live our everyday lives. Our greatness is in helping one another.
Please, let's not lose sight of that. Should selfishness and greed raise its ugly head in your heart or mind just take a look at the politicians and what their selfishness and greed has done to us. Don't forget how great we as a people are. We will survive this and people will be able to stop a life changing disease while the doctors can still do something. I absolutely refuse to believe that the people of our country have become so policitcal that they buy into the drama of the senate, congress, house, and so on and forget their fellow man. Should that be the case, we are doomed indeed. Please!!! Stay great America!!!!
We cannot afford this government take over of the healthcare system. We cannot afford big government spending. It is like a husband telling his wife that I just bought a million dollar home with an annual income of 20,000 dollars. It is a road to financial ruin of our nation. What must be done is deport the illegal aliens, put americans to work where they can get health insurance through their employment. Government cannot create jobs in the private sector, Tort limits on malpractice and enforce the trivial lawsuit provisions to eliminate fraud and waste in the court system lowering insurance rates to doctors and businesses, open insurance companies to sell across state lines to build competition which will lower insurance premiums. Less government is the key.
I keep hearing people say less government! Get rid of Pelosi, Reid, Obama! Oh no! the government is running us into destruction! Oh Blah Blah Blah!!! Where were all you people at when Bush was in office making deals with the devil and filling his pockets?? Huh!? Where was all this passion for our country? More than half of you probably never even looked into what reform is and are just bumping your gums based off what your peers are doing or out of pure hate for Obama. Obama has been doing the best he can do to clean up this mess that has gone ignored for too long and has done it even without the support he deserves. People are so hypocritical!!! Or maybe it's selective amnesia! I'm excited that there has been action taken toward "fixing" our ragedy health care system. It may not be all that we expected but it is a step, and in the right direction. I don't know how many stories I hear of people dying because they could not see a doctor. What's wrong with raising taxes for our American health? Are you kidding me? It's HEALTH! the most important thing we can have. Taxes won't mean a thing to you if you're dead! I just pray that all you high and mighty people with your perfect health and health coverage never get into an accident of any type or catch some type of unknown illness and are then denied a life saving procedure because your insurance company didn't feel as if you needed it. Yes people are PAID bonuses to deny treatments. Or should I say were. Thanks Obama!
The biggest problem that I see is that people are scared of what they don't understand!! Obama has said over and over that if we all are insured, we all will get good quality Healthcare. The poor will be helped to afford it. the middle class can keep what they have if they are satisfied the rich making over 100,000/year will help pay for it.
As I see it there will be fewer people on medical assistance because they can afford to buy it if the costs stay low!!
There will be competition between the insurance companies because we will still be buying from them-BUT it won't keep going up-up-up-and it will be capped. No pre existing conditions. no more being thrown out of the hospital before you are WELL because the insurance company say's "enough"....We are not LOOSING choices, We are gaining Choices!!
I just wish everyone would calm down and keep an open mind...Don't listen to Naysayers!! They have their own agenda......
For the record, insurance companies aren't out to screw people over. As a matter of fact, it is a service provided to those that CHOOSE that they want the protection if anything is to happen. Every company in the country wants to keep their rates as low as they can and still make enough to continue providing insurance because that's the only way they can stay competitive and ultimately...stay in business. In case you all don't realize this, the insurance industry was fighting vehemently against this health care reform because it is not good for anyone. At this point, the reason why insurance premiums get raised is because of the amount of claims that are made + the cost of medical bills + inflation. As soon as this bill takes effect, they are going to go straight to the cap and then because of pre-existing conditions, the claims will go up substantially and the companies will all pay more out than they have money to pay and they'll go out of business. Then the insurance industry will be run entirely by the government because the companies won't have enough money to stay in business. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that insurance is a complicated issue. However, the majority of people (including politicians) don't understand hardily anything about how it works or why it is how it is. When the government comes in with their idiot knowledge of insurance and tries to tell the insurance experts (who actually know what they're talking about) how it's supposed to be done, they are setting themselves up for failure. It's like if I try to tell a heart surgeon how to perform heart surgery...I have no clue how to do it so I'd be an idiot to try and do so. I agree that there are some things that could be made better but it doesn't start at the insurance level...it starts with medical bills. Insurance provides financial risk protection. If the financial risk were lower, the cost to provide that protection would be lower as well.
I have heard all of the mis-information from people who refuse to read or listen. We all need medical insurance since we never know when it will be needed. I am a senior citizen and several years ago we had to purchase medicare part D to help pay for medication. We all had to do that unless we could prove we had credible coverabe. This was a give away to insurance companies. It has a big donut hole that this medical bill in close. I would like to see people take a deep breath, read the bill, listen to many different sources and then decide instead of just yelling. We talked with some people who were against the bill one had a $5000.00 deductable and high premium but still did not want the new coverage. One had several employees and thought she would have to provide insurance for them. These were angry people who really did not know what they were angry about. Being angry like that is a good way to have a stroke and need medical care long term.
Stop blaming the president. The congress is to blame. United we stand united we fall. What happen to that.Under Bush we was worst. People wake up and start reading for your self. Stop listen to people whom only tell you what they think. For entertainment only B*** sh*t.
Keepin it short - this bill provides coverage for those who do not have or can't afford it - does not force people to leave what they have - closes loopholes that the insurance companies have used for decades to pad their bottom lines at our expense, allows students to stay on their parents coverage, stops isnurance from dropping people for USING THEIR INSURANCE - ALL GOOD THINGS. is it expensive - yep - so are wars - is it necessary - yep - so apparently are some wars. We can't have our cake and eat it too.
The really funny part is that for the vast majority of Americans this won't cost a dime - and for those that it does - it is worth it.
I don't want to pay more money to cover other peoples insurance. The government should set up a charitable account for health care so those who do want their money paying for other peoples insurance could donate their own money.
Wow, can you people read? Have you read the bill? Maybe you should do a little research before going off on what the Republican, Tea party says. Because the bottom line is they are there to get your vote, thats it. I know the truth hurts, but he truth is not what the opponents are saying. Go ahead be your own person, do some research, become educated on what is going on before you board that sarah palin bus.
re: march 31st 2010 5:57 pm if you don't have a job, you become a berdon on hard working tax payers. so get a job. is that about your line of thought???????? wake up!! smell the coffee this is all a power play for the bigger picture, that has yet to be seen.
Most of us are missing the point here. Nobody deserves anything! We do not deserve medicare, medicaid or any other government form of assistance. We must earn it for ourselves. I am sick of all of the sob stories about people who can't get health care. Friends and family should be there to help in times of need: never the government. I cannot afford health care right now, but I am working harder than ever to provide for my family. Fredom ends when we begin to feel entitled.
I am a registered nurse and see the hardships individuals face when they have no insurance for themselves or their children. I remember this one woman whose daughter had cancer. Her husband who had the better paying job and health coverage was laid off. She was making too much money to get aid, but too little to meet the cost of caring for her child. These are some of the dilemmas facing people without insurance, and are sick. Good for the rich and those who have insurance, but we as a nation must consider those who don't. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. It is a national issue. People who are sick have a right to be cared for.
If we didn't have so many illegals here maybe we cound get help also i don't like being told that i either have insurance or i'll be fined and also the private insurance will be forced out at a later date you morrons. You think that this is really going to help yes when your taxes go up then what will you idiots say then.
I DONT LIKE IT I HARDLY EVER GET SICK SO WHY PAY SO MUCH IN HIND SIGHT IM JUST PAYING FOR LOSER DRUG ADDICTS WHO NEVER CONTRIBUTED IN THERE LIFE FOR NOTHING TO DIE IN A NURSING HOME FUCK THEM.
I DONT WANT TO BE SUPLYING ANYTHING FOR ILLEGAL IMAGRANTS AND THEIR CHILDREN.If its more afordable to get insurance for my kids cool but forget the illegals, oh and have companies who hire them pay huge fines that would be for avading taxes on the s.o.b's paying them under the table.
I dont believe its needed when i die will it pay for my burial no so its a waste. I wont pay for that my whole life ill use my money for cool things like bunggee jumping i never get sick any ways. oh i have an idea why dont we make it mandatory to donate to cancer research everyone has a cause dont force your on me. lifes simply not fair period.
Have any of you that support this asked the question, If this is such a wonderful idea and plan why did ALL 100% of lawmakers EXEMPT themselves and their families from this? Does that not raise at least a little curiosity or are you so mired in a entitlement attitude you haven't even thought about that for a second.
I don't know what to believe with all the men got caught viewing and storing porn instead of doing their jobs to help America's needs.Maybe they need to look at what they voted into the health reform. It is obvious their minds was on something other than health reform....like sexual desires by viewing and storing the porn on the goverment computers...They are simply jokes for the American people. We should be worried.
COLLEGE is free in socialist countries thats what we should have gotten and it would have generated MORE jobs and mpore doctors and more compition...lowering prices around the world.Healthcare and opression, depression and less rights is what we now have. After over 100yrs and a fight for freedom OUR PRES> Obama has made us all SLAVES once again!!!! Is This is the change YOU asked for? vote them all out in The comming elections because it cant get worse than this people!
I have read all the comments, some good and some bad, I don't have insurance at this time and not working on SS, but not yet eligible for medicare. I have worked most of my 61 years and paid my taxes and kept health insurance as much as possible. I could comment on all that is being said, but it is not for me to judge. But, what I believe being on both ends of the issues, is that Health care insurance has never been for the poor. When I worked for wellpoint and the medicare part D rx program, it was a very sad thing to hear the elderly cry, because the medications cost so much and they had to choose between their meds and food, and then to reach the cap before the end of year and the out of pocket cost even more, and for companies like well point who's CEO makes Millions of dollars a year, tell me what is wrong with this picture, and then there is the medicaid program, it is good for most purposes, but for the people I have talked to on the call center line, they were basically an unappreciative bunch. Ungrateful for the FREE health care they and their children were getting that our taxes were paying, and now when I need it it isn't available, because I am to old for it, kind of in between the guidelines, so what are we to do, those that aren't disabled, or not working, or on govenment benefits, those that are to old for most health care, what about us, this reform could be a good thing, and I am willing to roll with the punches to see if it is, I have a disabled son on SSI, no medicaid, no medicare, no health insur private of assisted, he is on Wishard Advantage. When I worked for the Medicaid call center and we gave information about the HIP plan, here in Indiana only, it was probably the best plan yet, for people like us, because people want us to not smoke, then no cig tax money to keep HIP going. So, what I think is that maybe President Obama, should get a select group from each state, this group should be within the age of 40/70, must be poor, income no more than 30,000 a year, and since we have been there done that, lived in the poor community, and know what is needed, and hire us for our input and advice, and thoughts on how to make the government see where the needs really are, and how to provide them. POST A COMMENT IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO CONTACT YOU ABOUT MY GROUP IDEAL
I think its unfair that all the middle class and upper class people are being told what to do with their money that they obviously worked hard for. This government is so corrupt, we would all be better off if the goverment just stayed out of our lives.! As for the healthcare bill, I am totally against it. You people need to stop listening to Obama on the news and start reading the damn bill.yoiwill find so many MAJOR points that Obama won't dare to say on the news, because he's all for pleasing people. WAKE UP AMERICA.!
I looked into the low cost insurance on here and most of it is with the high priced insurance co. the lowest quote I got was for 115 a month. So, I figure I could either do without roof over head or move to the slums with all the roaches, or I could live with out lights or gas, or I could not eat, or mayber not worry about wiping my a--because it is insurance or do without the necissities.
I agree with everyone who says they should not be "forced" into paying for anything that they haven't chosen of their own free will to pay for. I do have health care and I choose to pay for it, I choose which plan I have and how much coverage I have. However, with every choice you make there is a consequence. So if you trip and break your leg, have a brain aneurysm, have cancer, or just get the flu, your on your own because I, as a hard working tax payer and health care supporter, should not be "forced" into paying for your medical bills. I do pay for the services I recieve, why shouldn't everyone? And if you choose not to, then you also choose not to recieve those services, ever. I do think the health care needs to be affordable to everyone, such as cost being comparable to income. The more you make, the more you pay. This is not the best solution, but at least everyone would be paying something for what surely everyone will need at some point in their life.
all of you people think wrong. Think about this::: you have a car, new or not, you must pay insurance. You never need it but you pay it. So. you pay for it for 30 or 40 years. Don't get anything for it, BUT it does go to the ones that do have accidents and injuries. So, you are helping others. Same with Health Insurance. If we all pay something, then everyone will have coverage (if needed).
I'm sick of being forced to be a sheep. I've worked my whole life away, only to see slackers benefitting from the taxes I pay, while I do without more and more every month. Soon, many of us will have absolutely no money to enjoy life with, not to mention "luxuries" like food and gas and rent. What a screwed up system.

Most of you forget one thing can any one here name a country that has this kind of health care that likes or where it made things better.I heard they all told the us it does not work. Now lets see we have to pay for health car or be fined what about the illagles the don't pay taxs so why should the pay for health care,so we still have high cost for that. then they are talking about a vat tax which means you pay 11% more for every thing you buy along with paying for your health care ins. That vat tax helps pay for the ones that will be covered even though they can't afford it. We can go on for ever about it but lets face it did anyone ever see the cost go down for anything no matter what the gov done to help us, and don't forget you get to pay for that health care for 3 years before you can use it. Think of this you lose your job can't put food on the table cause you have to pay for the health care. Me I reather have food then health care if it ever came done to that. do some web searching see the bad things about it they don't tell you
Look at this...this is a good thing for every one. It is a bill not only makes you safer if you get sick it makes sure that if you cannot afford it guess what you can get a job in health care. Next having food instead of health care is not smart, one reason is you get food posining and it gets worse and worse and oh look you need to go to a hospital. Think about it...hmmm...see. And some of you people only care about yourself, let's have more money in my already huge pocket and not care about the other millions of people who are not so fortunite but still find ways to give to others. SELFISH SELFISH SELFISH!!!! People need to help other people it is a part we live the UNITED think about it UNITED States of America and if you people think that you don't have to help other people. The government is not corrupt anymore last time I checked the Shurb Administration was corrupt Shurb kissed the big corperation's a---- shop shop shop. Oh and if we made it mandatory to donate to cancer research how many would be alive right now, think!Oh ya and guess what those Illegal immigant's children when they are born on our soil they are american and so is everyone who comes seeking a better life.
..Open your eyes!!! WAKE UP TO the TRUTH AMERICA!! We must be united or we will fall!!! TO EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTS THIS BILL ROCK ON, BLESS YOU!
I hope the rich stay rich, and the poor kept quiet out in the cold. Health care should only be paid for if you afford it. It should not be supplied by government, just like car insurance.
I am so tired of "bleeding heart liberals" passing judgment and shoving their attitude of elitism down my throat. The simple fact that Congress and our Pied Piper President won't be subject in any way to this health care reform bill tells me that it is less than perfect. We can't afford this bill, pure and simple. And I will venture to say that health care will get worse under this new law, not better.
im tired of you guys always saying that this new bill is being shoved down your throat as if it is some huge penis! the fact is that we are goin in the right direction but it does not go far enough. Healthcare should be provided to all Americans at the expense of the taxpayer just like all other industrialized nations. And dont think that this will be costing you more money when studies have shown that costs per person would go down. Capitalism is good but should not be in the healthcare system because healthcare is not a product that americans shop for, and should be provided for just as the fire department and the police are, it is a need.
Obama, Pelosi & Reid....pathetic!!!! And for the person who posted on May 3, 2010 at 10:04 pm. One word for you "IDIOT"
Give the man a chance, I don't see anyone else doing anything for this nation! We need affordable health coverage for everyone.
You ignorant people, this has nothing to do with the illegals, I'm an American, I work, pay taxes and I still can't afford health insurance! So f@k you all.
We, the taxpayers, have been paying for those without health insurance since the inception of Medicaid. The difference now is many of the working poor will now have to pay for their own coverage, subsidized of course. The boon will come from lowering of taxes in many localities where the property owners further subsidize the care of the "indigent" [those who fail to follow through with the Medicaid application or simply don't make payments for care received].
This bill is not the total answer, but it is a beginning. Tort reform, regulation of the health insurance industry [increases in profit thru higher premiums and cuts in benefits, and oversight on medical waste still needs to come. The dream is where the government can stop wasting our dollars on unnecessary rules, regulations, and paperwork that really drive up the cost of care.
I went with my 93 year old mom to her doctor in town last year for a routine visit. Her doctor told her he will be forced to close his private practice in two months because he could not afford to pay his employees for the meager amounts of money received from Medicare for all his elderly patients. Medicare has been cut back by the government more and more. He also could not take in enough income to pay his student loans, malpractice insurance premiums and support himself and his family, so he was taking a position at the local hospital as a member of their staff and relinquished his private practice. He is a fine doctor and well liked and respected in the community. My mother was heart broken as well as all his other patients. The doctor said several other doctors in town were also doing the same thing for the same reason. How many other doctors are doing this nationwide?
My wife, now a nurse, grew up in Canada, where they have socialized medicine. She saw many people needing medical attention having to wait months before they could get treatment. Canada simply does not have enough doctors to treat everybody on a timely basis, because the doctors don't get paid enough from the government to make much profit to stay in business. My wife said, therefore, many Canadian patients would come to the United States to get treated because they could treat them much sooner for cancer, MRI's and so forth. If our government thinks that our health coverage is so bad that we need to overhaul it to a socialistic plan, then why do so many people from other countries want to come here for medical treatment? Can't figure?
If this new health care bill is so great, then why do members of Congress and the House exempt themselves from it and have private insurance plans, paid for by you and me from our taxes?
The trillions of dollars of new borrowing from China by President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi is going to cripple our nation financially, and burden our children with interest charges for many, many years and lower our standard of living in this country. Do people understand how much a trillion dollars is? That is one thousand times a billion, and a billion is one thousand times a million dollars!! We will be subservient to China for years!! It is similar to my making only $50,000 per year but borrowing one million dollars from a credit card company to pay for health insurance. I and my children and grandchildren will be paying interest charges for many many years and never be able to get out of debt.
With our going into greater debt now, will pave the way for the U.S. going bankrupt like Greece is currently. We are headed in the wrong direction. We can stop this insanity now by voting in people in the legislature who will not vote for raising all our taxes and increasing government, but vote for cutting costs and living within our means!!
I speak as a patriotic American, not as a Democrat or Republican or Independent, but as an American, interested in preserving our heritage as the greatest nation in the world and not selling our country out to foreign interests who have been hostile to us in the past.
We are becoming slaves to the countries we are indebted to.
Abraham Lincoln once said, " A house divided against itself cannot stand -- I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free."
Stop blaming the insurance companies, health care reform has everyone in the insurance industry scrambling to try to implement these new laws. I know of one company that has blocked the summer months for any vacations so that all the new policies are ready in time. They have removed maximums from the polices, which is turn is going to increase the insurance rates. I guess that they thought that a five million dollar life time maximum was not good enough so hey, let's remove it altogether. Guess what happens when they start removing maximums? The medical community will start having you continue treatments, such as physical therapy and chiropractic treatment that you probably don't need. Maybe they need to look at the healthcare costs. It's ridiculous what the medical industry and pharmacy companies charge. We have seen hospital bills for over $500,000, The average one year insurance premium cannot even begin to cover the cost for these types of expenses. What about the physcians that charge you for two office vists on the same day, one for the yearly exam you came in for and another for looking in your ear because you had a complaint of ear pain. You were probably with him for 15 minutes and he is charging for two visits! These two charges alone can cost over $100.00 and let's not forget all the lab work that he is going to order. These are the types of claims that are submitted to the insurance companies every day. What about the cost of prescriptions. The average monthly supply of one drug can run over $40.00.
Instead of mandating insurance for everyone including those who are living on a fixed income and can't afford it and creating all of these new mandates for the insurance companies why not provide some type of funding or incentives for the medical community that will help cut the cost of medical care. If medical care costs were decreased the insurance companies would not have to spend as much money which in turn could reduce the premiums and make insurance more affordable.
Maybe they need to start looking at the high paid salaries of some of these government officials who have summer homes and take extended vacations and put that money towards health care. The same goes for these big CEOs at other companies, it must be nice to get a bonus that is bigger than my yearly salary. It's the little guy that does all the work while the head honchos sit in their leather chair behind a mahogony desk planning their next trip or some big lunch they can write off as a business expense. Since the government wants to contol everything in our lives let's start looking at the economy and ways to decrease unemployment and the homeless. Let's put caps on the big salaries of these executives and athletes. I'm sicking of hearing about the rich and famous and seeing how luxurious their lifestyles are. Maybe they should start start paying all of our taxes so that we can keep our homes and put food on our tables. Maybe they can pay for the insurance for those who cannot afford it. I can guarantee you that in order to qualify for any government assistant to help with the mandated insurance that you better not have any money in the bank because they wil say that you do not qualify. So much for trying to save up for your future. They will expect you to use your savings to pay for your insurance that they are mandating you to have.
All I have to say is that this is the worst I have ever seen the economy and I don't forsee it getting any better in the near future. I was hoping that the unemployement problem was going to be first on the agenda but evidently they were too busy rushing to put healthcare reform in place and it still is not going to solve the problem. Auto insurance is mandated too but how many people still drive without it? Hey let's fine the poor family without health insurance who is struggling to just put food on the table. Wow what a solution!
I thought our children up to age 26 were going be able be covered under their parents' health insurance? Not in North Carolina! If your child already aged out and wasn't a full time student and had previously been removed from their parents' health care plan, they WILL NOT be reinstated! I have a 22 year old son who can't afford his own health insurance and his employer doesn't offer it to part time employees, so I feel that I should be able to reinstate him on my own plan thanks to this WONDERFUL reform on health care, but sadly, I was mistaken!!!!!
The new reform has not helped me. I have been covered through cobra for eighteen months. The Insurance I had will not let me transfer the policy to an individual medical plan . I have to get a new policy from another provider. They tell me I need to go to a group for pre-existing, which will cost more. That will leave me with an unafordable cost. By the time Health Care Reform can helps me, I will be eligible for Medicare. So for five years I have to figure out how I can be treated if I should become ill. I've worked my whole life and have been able to have health insurance. I never realized that there is no help for unemployed persons unless they are disabled or sixty-five and eligible for Medicare.
I am sick and tired of all these selfish people. I have worked since i was 18 i paid my taxes and had health insurance coverage. I got sick and could not work, lost my insurance because i could not pay the premium. My job reduce my check, the health insurance stayed the same and then it when to cobra. I am 31 now and disable i had to wait two years before i was eligible for social security. For a entire year i could not go to the doctor because i had pre-existng and could not get insurance. I an glad that our PRESIDENT have the ball's to do something for poor people all these years of other president doing nothing for use wasting our money on bulls**t no one had nothing to say then. It is sad to know that people or so cold they only feel the need to help when tragedy happen. Well been sick is a tragegy and for those people who have never been sick and always have health coverage and are finacially secure i prayer a hope it stays that way.
As for as illegial immigrant are concern they do jobs that American refused to do. I believe that they should give them work pemits and let them pay taxes too. America is built with immigrants.People stop being selfish and let use unite and let this healthcare reform work for all of use, lets try it before we deem it to failed. God bless America and most of all God bless our president.
It seems to me the only individuals that are for the plan Obama set up are those that are completley naive, or truly lazy and are looking for a free hand-out. This reform was initiated in a way that shows Obama isn't listening to the majority of the United States population. I agree there needs to be reform, however under the current bill it is a giant misstep.
Not true. I work hard and have excellent insurance. I support health care reform & if the government can't pay for this -- yet. George W. & Dick could pay billions for war.I would rather my tax money be spent on providing health care to the people here in the United States.
I am glad the healthcare reform bill passed. It will require the insurance companies to be accountable. Everything has been so de-regulated over the years that the only people who benefit are the big insurance companies who take your money and then don't cover your costs.
My husband was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's desease, and I have worried sick about how we will be able to afford all the associated medical bills once he retires. We have both worked hard all our lives, raised children, paid taxes, and tried to live our lives in a socially responsible way. We certainly are not looking for freebies! We had no reason to expect he would be afflicted with this desease, and I was sick over the idea we could not buy more insurance due to "pre-existing conditions". Yes, I am exstatic the health care reform bill passed, and I pray the polical mongrels are unsuccessful in repealing what is now law.
I work in a business that does medical billing for different doctors offices around the country. For those people that have insurance and go to doctors that are in network with that insurance alot of that bill gets written off. For those that do not have insurance, they get charged full price and for things that they would not have been charged for if they had an insurance policy. The healthcare reform is not perfect but it will help many people. Also many of us want to say that we can't afford health insurance, but how many times do we go out to eat, buy all kinds of things for entertainment, go and buy a brand new car with a high payment when a used one a couple years old would have worked just as good. Truth is we don't want to give up certain things we enjoy to purchase health insurance. Busch was the one who put this country so far in the hole.. but people seem to forget that. Most of the people posting here can't manage their own finances but want to tell the president how to manage the national debt. I agree with healthcare reform, I think if given a chance it will benifit many more than it will hurt.
Government and insurance companies should get out of healthcare. Doctors, clinics, hospitals and other medical facilities should have to compete for business just like all others. Cost would come down and quality would go up. It is not my responsibility to pay for anyone elses healthcare. This OBAMACARE needs to be repealed. The taxes are going to put most of in the poor house. Those on medicare will have their care rationed. Is this still America? Get these deocrates out of our congress. And out of our white house. One Big A$$ Mistake America OBAMA
The people on Medicare are being forced to pay for care they will not receive!! Fraud!!
all i can say its all bullshit we are getting ripped off in everything not just health care the governent i trying to police us in every aspect this aint russian politics or communism but there doing alot that lately andi agree with april 15 2010 love our country hate the goverment
i have an idea how about we all make oppointments go to the doctor and dont pay the bill its a rebelion coming soon ww3
There is no such thing as a free lunch, and all you fools who think this is actual health care are eating imaginary food. All this bill will do is drive up the cost of care, force you to buy insurance, and has nothing to do with you actually getting health care if you can not afford it.
This "insurance" will be paid for by anyone selling their home after 2013. After 2013 anyone selling their home will pay the government 3.8% of the cost. These $$$'s will go the gov't to offset the costs. Thanks Dem's!!!
Not sure what's wrong with demanding everyone have health insurance. We pay for those who don't have health insurance right now and that isn't fair to us. I know many of you have never been in a situation where you don't have insurance and your loved one is shipped to another hospital and dies on the way. This is truly a horrible situation that I would not want anyone to go through or what about those in this country illegally the hospitals will treat them as well and guess who foots the bill....you and me! Wake up!! this is a good thing and don't worry about who is going to pay for it because you haven't worried about the US paying for anything while Bush was there!! It looks like some of you are looking for something to complain about rather than looking at the big picture.
TO ALL THE STUPID UNINFORMED IDIOTS THAT VOTED FOR YOUR NEW DICTATOR CHANGE IS COMING. YOU DUMB ASSES BLAME THE GOP FOR OUR CURRENT PROBLEMS BUT IF YOU IDIOTS EVAN HAVE A BRAIN THE SIZE OF A PEA WHO HAS BEEN THE MAJORITY IN CONGRESS DA THE DEMOCRATES THEY MAKE THE LAWS NOT THE PRESIDENT AND WHO HAS BEEN THE MAJORITY IN CONGRESS BINGO THE DEMOCRATES WAKE UP YOU STUPID UNINFORMED SHEEP
Here is a big picture. I had/maybe still have cancer. I was kicked off of BCBS for very bogus reasons. Soon I will have to pay a penalty or pay for insurance that I can't afford. The cancer has already reduced us to near poverty. We have had to sell just about everything worth anything that we own/ed. I can't get employment now either. Guess why? No one wants me on their med/health coverage. That's why I got kicked off in the first place. I nearly declined medical help when I found that I had cancer. My family talked me into it. I am a fighter. I pay my own way. Now when I pass on, my wife and family won't have a thing left. Everything that I tried to put aside for them is gone. I hate to inform all of you of this but, we all have a time to die. I just wasn't convince of it then. I know that I won't willingly put anymore debt onto my family and friends. And now, because of our system "forcing" med/health insurance, I won't be able to get meaningful employment, ever. Thank our elected EMPLOYEES.
I have been unemployed for a 17 months. My husband and I are over 59. He is self-employed, I worked for insurance. COBRA is running out. He has pre-existing conditions which are stable. I have received quotes from $1,600.00 a month for both of us for a HMO that is very restrictive (can't afford) to $704.00 a month with a $5,000.00 deductible and limited physician visits for him only. We are average middle class, yet it is going to take every penny we have to pay for insurance. I used to work at a hospital and am very much aware of the waste and inefficiency. I am going to school, but have doubts that anyone will hire me because of my age, and by the way our net worth is to high to get assistance with schooling, (get real). Personally, I am sick of the people who commit fraud to get assistance. This entire health bill is a joke, just like everything else the "good-ole boys" in Washington are doing. This is the land of opportunity, for who?
They can kiss my ass. I will not purchase it and they can not make me. It goes against my rights! I pay out of pocket when I go to the doc. Have no major health issues, and if the day comes when I do that will be my problem.
I work in health care right now, and am in school to become a nurse. DONT tell me that this health care bill is a goood thing because it is NOT. It will nto save people with pre-existing conditions!! The gov will have the say so as to if they get the care they need. The gov will have the power to say yes or no, and many will still be waiting for an answer when they pass away.
I am worried that our monthly premiums will be astronomical! What if you have a pre-existing condition like diabetes, or some skin cancer, etc. Does anyone know what they would charge a 50 year old person with one of these conditions? Is there a max amount they would charge? (say you have a normal $60,000 job with no healthcare insurance through employer).
Look here... this thing will get repealed as soon as the republicans get control! For those un-insured and illeagles in the country... we can set up clinics and hand out asprins and band aids when they get sick or injured!
I think that health care reform is a great idea. I have type 1 diabetes and for me to get insurance is almost impossible. First you have to apply and most of the time you are rejected for insurance. Then if they do except you they charge you $500 a month for insurance. I don't think that anyone could afford that much a month. Especially when you add in you deductibles, copay, and prescriptions. As for those out there who say this is socialism. I hope you never get a chronic disease and find out what it's like to have to choose between paying the rent of buying you medication to survive.
And who's gonna pay for your insurance? I bet you don't hold a full time job. So it will be me to pay for it!
I have insurance, but when I try to find a doctor and give the receptionist the insurance name, they are all of a sudden "full" and I can't get into seeing that particular doctor. I will have to switch to a larger national insurance company in order to ensure I can even see the doctor of my choice. It seems that having insurance does not necessarily guarantee quality care or the freedom of "choice".
This whole situation is pathetic!Older people and people on disabilty are discriminated against.I know people who have good jobs and are too cheap to have any money deducted for insurance.I ended up on disability after being a taxpayer for years! The whole thing is a crock!
i am in my early 30's, married with 3 daughters. My husband and I worked many years for a company that did not offer insurance, therefore we had to pay all expenses out of pocket, which meant only the children went to doctor appts, etc. This past year we both lost our jobs, i went to college in the medical field. 10mths it took for my husband to get a job,the insurance premiums are high. After taxes and cost of our insurance he brings home $100 more a week than he did on unemployment! Oh, and btw i've had a tumor in my breast that is considered pre-existing, i can't afford to get the mammograms, ultrasounds, whatever needed to make sure i will always be here with my children.. i have not read the complete reform bill, but from what i've been through and see other families struggling with everyday bills, i am for the new plan... EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET AFFORDABLE INSURANCE..
The first rule says you HAVE to have insurance. Both my husband and I have pre-existing conditions, and although the new bill says we can't be denied coverage because of it, it doesn't say that it has to be affordable. So far, the cheapest we've been able to find will end up costing us more than $3,000 a MONTH! And this is for a high deductible and very limited coverage. The question then becomes what do I give up in order to afford insurance? In order to spend that much on insurance, I'd have to give up my home and find a place to live that didn't cost me anything AND give up food - and even that wouldn't cover it. BE REAL! This is not reasonable. If you force me to buy insurance, it's going to severly impact my quality of life.
Being an american and living in the United states used to be a place I was very proud of.I no longer feel that way.Our wonderful government has decided to make our decisions for us and not give we the people any rights any longer. This health care plan is down right bullshit. The economy is at its worst right now,no jobs means alot of people not working.Unemployment only goes so far and alot of us know exactly how far it does go.So now we are being forced to have health care or face a fine.Maybe if I didnt have to pay for the lazy no good for nothing welfare recipients to sit home on there lazy ass day after day.Maybe if I didnt have to pay for all the foriegners in this country who get a free ride.Maybe if I didnt have to pay every god damn time a disaster strikes in another country. Its time the hard working people who have helped make this country what it once was stand up and take OUR country back.Every politician fired.Hey government....go fuck yourself and stop fucking us.
I have a cousin who researched insurance because she has a pre-existing heart condition. She is 61 and is still employed, after heart valve replacement and a stroke a few years later. She found ins. all right - at over $700 a month. (She brings home around $1,100 a month!) It will be available all right, but there are so many of us (myself included at 59 years old) that cannot afford the ins. premiums. I was in a serious wreck and have no medical ins. and the motorcycle ins. only paid $1,000 toward $50,000 in medical bills. And, I can't afford my every 6 months pelvic exams and lab fees for HPV, so I live with the fear that I will develop cancer! We need health reform, but we need what England has, free health care for all who can't afford private ins.
If my health ins. was as cheap as my car ins. I wouldn't hesitate to enroll!!!
When I worked for a company that provided insurance I chose the best and most expensive plan. I paid over $750 per month but had great coverage and didn't have to worry about the "what if" when it did happen. After I changed jobs I got insurance that cost me
$800 a month with a $5000 deductable. After one year this plan was changed, if I wanted to keep the $5000 deductable, my payment would go up to $1200 per month, or I could keep the $800 plan and my deductable would go to $10,000. Again I searched for afforable insurance only to find a premium of $700 a month with a $10,000 deductable. (oh, after I reached my deductable, the insurance company would only pay 80% of what they deemed the bill should be!
Whats a person to do. Obama's plan is very similar to the Republican play of a few years ago. Let us all please give the man a chance. I would be happy to pay $800 a month if I knew I would be completely covered. We really need universal health care.
For all of you uninsured folks who don't like progress, can we count on you to pay your medical bills no matter how steep they get. Or should hospitals check your credit scores before treating you. You freaking idiots#%*! You all probably voted for Bush TWICE or didn't vote at all. You don't deserve this health bill
better voting for bush twice than voting for obama once...
wow...such hatred on here. all of the negative individuals better get health insurance to cover the stress related heart attacks you're gonna have. lol
Health Insurance is costing people a lot of money but obama is saying the insurance is not costing a lot of money but some people is paying a lot out of there pay checks i dont think that is right.
My boyfriend had fantastic insurance through his job. He works and collects Social Security which required him to have Medicare or be penalized, Medicare coverage disqualified him from his employers health care and so he is now under the new law required to purchaser a supplement plan. He pays more out of pocket and two or three times the premiums for not even a fifth of the coverage he had before. His supplemental perscription insurance alone is 106 a month his necessary perscriptions come to 51.00 of which the insurance pays 7.
Requiring health insurance with no caps on premiums is crazy.
My solution -- doctors should be doctors to help people. The government could finance their education and pay all a salary through a percentage say 1 percent per family membrer of total income,
Or instread they could just build more jails and prisons where all the "non insured" who don't pay their fines and anyone else can simply commit some crime and health care would be free.,
I resent the government demanding a person MUST buy health insurance. Historically those who were young and healthy often chose to "self-insure" or perhaps just buy catastrophic coverage as they did not feel they were in a risk group and did not want to pay the high premiums. This is another example of erosion of our rights and responsibilities. The government is in my pocket enough. I don't want people made into criminals for wanting to live independently.
I have insurance. I need insurance. But I feel it should be an individual's right to choose. What will the government dictate we buy next????
People should never forget that real health depends how well you take care of yourself and not what health insurance you carry.. but i agree health insurance is important for every one.
Who's paying for this? The tax payer is paying for that? Duh! We're already spending money as it is.....why not spend it on something as beneficial as this?? Everyone has to always complain about something...especially the doctors, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies! Shut up! You guys already live the good life...I'm glad there is more structure to govern u flock of "Greedy Monsters"! Because of you guys, I buried my grandmother this past March! Sit back and relax, while the rest of the ordinary people in the US finally reap some of the benefits offered!
never happen
I've been uninsured since 2004 and I go to the "COUNTY" hospital for medical attention. I have asthma, hypertentsion and a burnt out thyroid which all require medication and that I see a doctor at least three times a year. This is my tax paying money and I'm going to use it. Having these designer care plans in order to separate yourselves from the underpriviledge is ridiculous! When you loose your coverage, let's see how you will feel then. This is not a bunch of government conspiracies to bring this country down, it's something that should have been done a long time a go. Look at Canada and UK; they don't have an issue.
who is the author of this? it doesn't say!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Americans, you are doing exactly what the media and talking heads want you to do -- you are all up in arms about "the issues" but I would bet not one have you have actually read the Healthcare Bill why? For the same reason that those that passed it did not - the bill itself is thousands of pages. Depsite all the greedy hands that are in the bill asking to be a part of the government mandated bail out in the bill, in the guise of help I might add. True thoses that are hurting meaning those that have found they need medical coverage and can't afford want the bill that's a natural response but of course, and those that are angry that couldn't get coverage when they desperately needed it are responding the same way angry, because they see others getting government pay for many things and it is not a fair program.
Why is it not fair? One - I suggest you read The Constituion of United States of America and you read the Bill of Rights. Depite the need to oversee, reform, correct and repair our way of life in the United States, this Bill is un constituional and as soon as you give away the control of your own life to another, the sooner that entity will want more of it and want to control more of it. Do you want your Government to tell what you can and cannot purchase with your own hard earned income? Do you want someone telling where you can and cannot spend your money? or where you can and cannot live? I think not despite the fact that we have alot of work to do to correct what is already in place. Not to mention this kind of a mandate will cause many busineses to close their doors.
We do have a medical Industry that is huge and the costs of medical care that is paid out to Doctors is out of control and the amt that is paid to Pharma is out of control and has been for many years, yes there are special interests that created it many years ago. There are billions of dollars of fraudulent claims made across the country and the volume of claims is such that the gov and the Ins.co's need to come together to find a way to lower costs on both sides of that Isle The Insurers and the Doctors and the pharmaceutical companies with billions being made for the investors in the pharmaceuticals can you get the idea on why it has never been handled?
The medical Industry needs reform, but you should also do your research on who it is that owns the Ins.Co. And those same people are the strings to Washington and the "beautiful" Bail-out to the tune of trillions of your dollars. Do you think that was happenstance?? Do you think the mantality in which this bill was "passed" was American? Do your own research of the facts and take the emotion out of it. please, you will be much happier.
Someone mentioned socialist? Do your research on what socialism actually is - I assure you if you think your dollar does not stretch for you now, take another look because if our United States government allows this healthcare bill and the new addtional 600 billion bail-out announced just the day after this election yesterdayBy the By --- The Economic crash of 2008 was not a mistake it was well thought out and very well known about by those that just lost their seats in the House the most telling is that there are dozens and dozens that were involved in the Realestate crash and billions in fraudelent securities pkgs. sold that helped create it. So stop fighting with each other and get the facts yourself and quite listening to emotions.
We are the people and our government is supposed to be for the people., and the people just voted and said no more spending no more fraudulent medical claims, no more billions given to the pharmaceuticals special interests, and no more taxes, this way we can create jobs so people can afford to do wha they have the right to do with their own money.
Like I said do your own unbiased research. My husband and I have our own business that we worked very hard for long hrs, on the weekends and late nights to create over the last 15 years an we still work those hours. But we did this because we always wanted our own business and in American you have the freedom to do that and you have a right to flourish and prosper too! However we still have never purchased Insurance - medical Insurance because the costs are too great. Yes this may be more important in our later years but we have also been very responsible with our health to help insure ourselves that we won't be unnecessarily ill. Anytime we have medical issure we do go see a doctor and have to pay to do that but we have that right on our own determinism to see any type of doctor we feel that we need. We also don't have dental but pay when we need it.
By the by there was an earlier note on someone with a burnt out thyroid and hypertension all of these can be cured naturally without medication, do some research on the net. I know of a family that all had diseases that were told they had to have medical drugs and the family cured all of their diseases naturally without medical bills and drugs. visit www.rawfamily.com or VictoriaBotenko.com it is the Botenko family website.
May you all do well and be healthy
Agreed! The only reason those who wanted health care passed (and they were few and far between) was to have another program handed to them. There are many people struggling, indeed. But as commented before, it was all planned that way so at some point, people will throw up their hands and say I quit, let the government take care of us. But we are Americans, strong and true and this country was built on hard work and our freedoms maintained on the battle fields. Do not let the memory of our fallen soilders be marred with the induction of socialism. Get Michael Savage's Book, "Trickle Up Poverty". Every speech documented, every crafty deal, exposed. Obama has never met a payroll, was a student of Saul Alinksky's Rule for Radicals and is in bed with George Soros whose plan it is to devalue the dollar. Read up and wake up.
I have worked for 30 years in the medical profession as a nurse and insurance premiums have always been expensive because those who have insurance pay each time a person uses the emergency rooms for routine care.I worked a full time job and then a part time job just to cover the premiums. The healthcare system should have been reformed decades ago and we would not be in this state now.The big pharmaceutical companies should have been dealt with decades ago.I have health insurance but one of my medications, the copay for me is 465 dollars. If we do not find a way to deal with this issue it is going to get worse so tell me who is going to lose in the end.
In the area where I live, we have two major hospitals. One just announced huge cut backs in personnel, due to the fact that the uninsured costs at that hospital have risen to more than they can handle. That means longer waits, higher costs passed on, possibly not as good of care, especially for in-patients with less nursing staff. We already face high costs for this, why not let everyone have insurance, at least basic. We are already paying!!
We are required to have Automobile Insurance for a very good reason, it not only protects us, it also protects the other guy. It ONLY MAKES SENSE, to me, that HAVING TO purchase medical insurance is REASONABLE. Rather than One Person having to bear the brunt of HIGH medical expenses, we are FINANCIALLY PROTECTED by having Medical Insurance. EVERYONE's Money goes into the pool, and then those that NEED IT are COVERED. It is SELFISH of some to think that they are ABOVE it ALL and do NOT have to carry medical Insurance. These people are ROBBING the poor even MORE, or worse KEEPING THEMSELVES even poorer, placing the need for THIER HEALTH CARE on the backs of those of us who DO WORK JUST AS HARD and WHO STRUGGLE in this economy ALSO. We make under $50K per year, we pay a mortgage, groceries, GASOLINE, HOE OWNERS INSURANCE, CAR INSURANCE, CLOTHING, SHOES etc..AND HEALTH CARE ISURANCE COVERAGE. This means we DO NOT GO OUT TO EAT, GO TO THE MOVIES, ON A CELL PHONE, BUY 3-D Televisions oe any other type of television for that matter. Vacations are extemely rare if ever... BUT OUR NEEDS are MET, WE SEE TO THIS. WE DO NOT DEOEND on our NEIGHBORS and FRIENDS to CARRY OUR LOAD (OUR RESPONSIBILITY). We make sacrifices when and where necessary to mak certain we have WHT WE NEED. Tere is a BIG Difference in NEED and WANT. Governemnt has NO PLACE IN MEDICINE or MEDICAL COVERAGE.
